John Ferrer, age 55, a longtime resident of Pascagoula, Mississippi, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2009 at his home in Flower Mound, Texas, after a courageous battle with melanoma.

He was born October 13, 1953 in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and was an alumnus of Pascagoula High School and the University of Southern Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his parents James F. (Jake) and Sallie Ferrer, sister Peggy (Emory) Thaxton, and brother-in-law, William D. Blake.

John is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Claudia, son Wes, daughter Alyssa, sisters Betty (Billy) Montgomery, Carole (Larry) King, and Sara Blake, and brother James F. Jr. (Jim), and in-laws Jack and Lois Mitchell, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The family welcomes you to a visitation 7:00–9:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, Texas and visitation 6:00–8:00 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2009, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, Mississippi and interment Tuesday, September 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, Mississippi.
