John Dixon went to his eternal home on January the 18th. He was born in Van Zandt County and resided in Farmersville, Texas.  He was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Marine Corp and fought in many battles.  He was also a Purple Heart recipient.  He retired from the Dallas Postal Service.  He is survived by his wife Betty, two brothers Billy and Herman, three sisters, Wanda, Tina, and Sue.  He is also survived by his four children, Marie and husband Dennis, Sheree  and husband Billy, Clif and wife, Lisa and Shauna and husband, Zac; along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  A funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon, Thursday, January 22, 2009, in the Mulkey Mason Chapel.  Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery in Carrollton.  Pastor Mark Akers of Victorious Life church will officiate.  The family will receive friends, Wednesday, January 21, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 P.M.
