Joel Clifton (Cliff) Wilson, 94, died March 13, 2012, at the Vintage in Denton. Cliff was born January 11, 1918 at Lloyd, TX to Roxie Hale and Jasper Wilson. He was a member of Denton Church of Christ for over sixty years, serving as a deacon and elder. He served with the US Army during World War II. Cliff was married to the former Dessie Vandeventer on September 16, 1939 in Denton. He worked for Acme Brick and was retired from Meisel Photochrome in Dallas.
Cliff is survived by his wife of 72 years Dessie; two sons, Robert Wilson of Denton and Michael Wilson and wife Faye of Keller; two brothers, Stover Wilson of Denton, and Selby Wilson and wife Sue of Sanger; four grandsons, Bobby, Donald, Ricky, and Stephen; one granddaughter, Sharon Dears, eight great granddaughters; two great-great grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, his twin Clint, and Kenneth Wilson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Thursday, March 15, 2012 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, with Terry Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home on Thursday before the service for visitation from 1 P.M. until service time.
