• Joe Howard Shelton, 84, of Sanger, died Tuesday, February 1, 2022 surrounded by his family at his home in Sanger.

Mr. Shelton was born on April 19, 1937 in Lewisville to Leonard Alex and Lena M. (Dudley) Shelton. He was married to Patricia Ann Atnip on November 17, 1962 at the Little Chapel in the Woods in Denton. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sanger. Joe retired from the Texas Department of Transportation as an inspector and most recently worked for the Denton County Courthouse Annex in Sanger for ten years.

• Joe is survived by his wife, Pat Shelton of Sanger; sons, Gary Don Shelton (Kathryn) of Ponder, Jeffrey Lyn Shelton (Elizabeth) of Buda; sister, Minnie Lee Drake (Vernon) of Keller; brother, James Harold Shelton (Susie) of Forney; grandchildren, Emily Smiland (Morgan), Jared Don Shelton (Kaley), William Reid Shelton.
• Friends are welcome to visit the funeral home and sign the register book for Joe on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 7, 2022 at Old Hall Cemetery, Lewisville.
