Joe Le Norris Fields died peacefully in his sleep on the morning of April 27, 2011 at his home in Denton, TX. He was born in Sapulpa, OK, May 5, 1916 and was the son of Joseph Allen and Florence Chamberlain Fields. Joe realized his love for engineering and problem solving while attending the University of Oklahoma. He met his wife of 51 years, Mary Elizabeth East on a blind date in Oklahoma City, OK, she died April 13, 1989. He later married Margaret Lee Nelson Moses on March 17, 1990 in Bella Vista AR., Margaret died on November 17, 2009. Joe spent the majority of his working life with the Parker Hannifin Corporation, a global leader in aerospace technology. He was instrumental in the development of the first Air Force in-flight fueling systems. Joe was extremely well respected by his customers and peers. He was a talented craftsman and especially loved woodworking and all types of crafts. He played the piano and organ by ear and had a passion for automobiles and car racing. Joe stayed busy in church activities and was a loving and dedicated father. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM Tuesday May 31, 2011 in the Mead Chapel of Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village, 3901 Montecito Dr., Denton, TX. Rev. Lisa Marshall and Lynda Schupp will perform the service. Interment will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK. He is survived by his daughter, Janice Bichler and husband Billy of Austin; son, Joseph Russell Fields of Irving; stepson, Bob Moses and his wife Joanne of Corinth; stepdaughter, Karin Gould of Fairbanks, AK; grandchildren, Christopher Thomas Bichler and Brett Smith Bichler of Allen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the General fund of either Lake Forest Good Samaritan Village, 3901 Montecito Dr., Denton, TX 76210 or First UMC of Denton, 201 S. Locust, Denton, TX 76201.
