Joan Kress Pfarr, 70, of Denton, died Friday May 6, 2011 at her home in Denton.
Mrs. Pfarr was born on April 29, 1941 in Elgin, Illinois to George Joseph and Violet Virginia (Hanson) Stanek. She attended Northern Illinois University. She was a retired banker working in the past for Key Bank, First State Bank/Wells Fargo Bank. She was married to Robert Lawrence Pfarr on December 29, 1990 in Portland, Maine.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday May 12, 2011 at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday May 13, 2011 in the chapel of Denton Bible Church, 2300 University Dr., Denton. Rev. Mike Spencer will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be George D. Kress, Joshua P. Kress, Matthew J. Kress, Michael J. Kress, II, Jordon P. Kress.
Mrs. Pfarr is survived by her husband, Robert Lawrence Pfarr of Denton, TX; sons, Michael J. Kress and his wife Judy of Westwood, MA, Steven P. Kress and his wife Carrie of Aubrey, TX, Daniel R. Kress and his wife Laura of Denton, TX, Theodore B. Kress of San Antonio, TX; stepdaughters, Kristin A. Blanchard and her husband Josh of Daphne, AL, Jennifer M. Proly and her husband Ryan of Tampa, FL; brothers, Donald G. Stanek of Chapel Hill, TN, Thomas E. Stanek of Sanger, TX; fourteen grandchildren and former husband, Richard W. Kress, II of Pompano Beach, FL.
