Jimmy Charles Reed, 77, of Tioga, TX passed away on Friday, April 1, 2011 at North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville, TX. He was born on September 3, 1933 in Era, TX to Charles Truman and Nova Lee (Bearden) Reed. He was married to Ruby Jones on February 16, 1954 in Justin, TX. He was a self employed painting contractor, and was a member of the Sanger Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Reed is survived by his wife, Ruby Reed of Tioga; sons, Dwayne Reed of Dallas, Kevin Reed and wife Jean of Valley View, daughters, Kimberly Conner of Savannah, and Suzanne Bain and husband Robert of Prosper; sister, Janice Delashmit and husband Walter of Justin; brothers, Mickey Reed and wife Vondal of Weatherford, Truman Reed of Santa Fe, and Dennis Reed of Abilene; eight grandchildren, Michael Charles Conner, Christopher William Conner, Larry Matthew Conner, Christopher Walter Long, Aleasha Nicole Reed, Justin Charles Reed, David Dwayne Reed, and James William Reed; thirteen great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Sanger Church of Christ with John Payne officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Collinsville. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton for visitation on Monday, April 4, 2011 from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M.
