Jimmy Lee Murphrey age 71 of Denton passed away Wednesday February 9, 2011 at Senior Care and Rehabilitation Center in Denton. He was born May 11, 1939 in Dallas, Texas to James A. and Bernece Allen (DuBose) Murphrey. James was a Gradate of A&M Consulate High School and the University of North Texas in 1961. He was a Teacher of Political Science and later retired of Denton State School. He also served in the Army Reserves Engineers. Jim married Joyce A. Cothran on November 23, 1979.
He survived by his wife of 31 years Joyce of Denton. Son's Emmit Lee Warnke of Mesquite and Larry Warnke of Fruita. Co. Daughter Crystal Bays of Denton. Sisters Roxann Curry of Ennis and Nancy Murphrey of Irving. Four grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 am Saturday February 12, 2011 at Mulkey-Mason Chapel in Denton. Burial will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Krum. The Rev. Buddy Owens will conduct the service. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Friday February 11, 2011 at the Funeral Home.
