Obituary

Jim Pepper, 88, of Denton, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Hospice House of Huguley in Burleson, TX. He was born May 28, 1926 in Ranger, TX to J. E. (Doc) and Edna (Nichols) Pepper. He is a graduate of Brock High School and North Texas State Teachers College (UNT). He was married to Wayland Vannoy November 27, 1962 in Denton, and she preceded him in death. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and retired as District Manager and Pricing Specialist from Moore Business Forms after 39 years. He served in the US Navy during World War 2. He was a Master Mason with Stanfield Lodge #217 AF & AM for 50 years, and was Past President and member of the High Noon Lions Club with perfect attendance for 25 years.
Mr. Pepper is survived by daughters, Marsha Crawford of Burleson, and Marcella Strickland of Tulsa, OK; son, Dr. Mark McAdams of Milsap, and six grandchildren: Thomas Crawford, Katherine Crawford, James Strickland, Matthew Strickland, Melanie Manthei, and Mark Ryan McAdams, and great-granddaughter Maren Manthei.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton from 6 pm until 8 pm. Funeral service will be at 1 pm Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in the funeral home chapel, with Chaplain Hank Demas officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
