Jewel Hasten, age 81, of Lewisville, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2007, at The Medical Center of Lewisville.

She was born July 9, 1925 in Ferris, Texas to Cuin Cleveland Upchurch and Mary Ada Elizabeth Melton Upchurch. She married Olen Hasten on November 1, 1941 in Lewisville. Olen preceded her in death on February 20, 1995. Jewel was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and worked as a beautician here in Lewisville for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Adkisson of Marion, Indiana; grandchildren,
Barry Hasten Randy Hasten, Karen Richter and Courtney McEuin; great grandchildren,
Austin Olen Hasten Ashlee Elizabeth Hasten, Quentin James Hasten, Holly Hasten, Morgan Watson, Hasten Lewis McEuin, Alexandria Richter and Ryan Richter; and by her sister, Betty Simons of Lewisville. Jewel was preceded in death by her son,
Eugene Hasten in 2002.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Lewisville. Interment will follow in Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville. The family requests memorial contributions to be made to the
