Jessie Lee Doss went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 31, 2013.
She was born to Charlie Andrew and Martha Elizabeth Romine on December 14, 1924, in Elmore City, Oklahoma.
Jessie graduated from high school in Elmore City, Oklahoma. After her graduation she went to work in Oklahoma City, where she met Bill Doss while he was visiting his sister in Oklahoma. They were married one week later on July 10, 1944. They lived in various cities in Oklahoma and Texas before they moved to Denton, Texas in 1957.
Jessie was a devoted mother and loved her family. She also loved watching birds, cooking for her family, crafts and working crossword puzzles. She loved to watch the Texas Rangers play baseball, but most of all she loved being a mother and devoted wife. She was an inspiration to her sons and everyone that knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by three sons and their families, Bill and Sally Doss of Abilene Texas, Darrell and Jerilyn Doss of Frisco Texas and David and Vickie Doss of Flower Mound Texas;
Grandchildren - Larry and wife Julie Doss of Lubbock, Didi and husband Kyle Pierce of Abilene, Laurie White of Frisco, Berry and wife Kelly Doss of Denton, Jennifer and husband Jason Wylie of Carrollton, Andrea and husband Derek Nix of Lewisville, and Tyler Doss of Flower Mound.
Great Grand Children - Abby Doss, Matthew Doss and Grace Shoop, children of Larry and Julie Doss; Ashley Pierce and Allison Pierce, children of Didi and Kyle Pierce; Amanda White, child of Laurie White, Braxton Wylie, Colton Wylie and Kaden Wylie, children of Jennifer and Jason Wylie; Nolan NIx, child of Andrea and Derek NIx.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 2 at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. Services will be at 2 pm on Saturday, August 3 at Highland Baptist Church, 600 Thomas St., Denton, with Larry Davis presiding. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
