Jesse Leon Brannon, age 88, of Argyle, Texas slipped into the arms of the Lord Thursday, November 10, 2011 at home with family. Jesse was born September 9, 1923 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma to Joseph Peeler Brannon and Minnie Alsup Brannon. He grew up in Maysville, Oklahoma on his family farm, served with the United States Navy on the USS Commencent Bay during WWII, and was stationed in the Asiatic-Pacific Area during 1942-1946. Jesse married Maxine Joyce Campbell on August 8, 1948, and lived in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma until retiring from Trascon Freight Lines in 1980. After retirement Jesse and his wife, Maxine moved to Noble, Oklahoma, Lake Kiowa, Texas, and eventually, Argyle, Texas. Jesse was a master gardner/farmer who loved to share the fruit of his labor with everyone.
Jesse was proceeded in death by his granddaughter, Geralyn "Gigi" Dunn, of Oklahoma; two sisters, and five brothers. He is survived by wife, Maxine Joyce Brannon, of Argyle, Texas; daughter, Glenda and husband, William Kim Adams of Argyle, Texas; sister's, Jewel Pinson of Missouri and Dorothy Dunn of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Eric Adams and wife, Kimberly of Denton, Jason Adams and wife, Sherry of Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Logan, Annemaree, and Zachary Adams of Denton, Kelsey Croman, Brett, and Jake Adams of Oklahoma.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00pm Friday, November 18, 2011 at Denton Bible Chapel 2300 E. University Denton, Texas 76201
