Jerry Mack Romine, 72, of Denton, died Monday, August 13, 2007 at Baylor University Hospital in Dallas. He was born February 13, 1935 in Winnsboro, TX to Howard Eugene and Mattie (Waldrop) Romine. He was a Graduate of Mississippi Baptist College in Clinton, Mississippi with a BS. He was married to Vivian Sue Marr on June 23, 1957 in Winnsboro, TX He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Denton. He was retired from the U. S. Army as a Major and became the Purchasing Agent for Denton County, and DART. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge, the American Legion Post #71, where he served as director for four years, and the Coppell Bass Club.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 17, 2007 in the Chapel of the Beaty Funeral Home, 816 W. Broadway, Winnsboro, TX with Rev. Herb Pedersen, officiating, with visitation from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M. Thursday, August 16, 2007. There will also be a visitation at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, on Wednesday, from 6 P.M. until 9 P.M. Burial will follow in the Smyrna Cemetery in Wood County.
Mr. Romine is survived by his wife, Vivian Sue Romine, of Denton, daughter, Cindy Romine, of Oak Point, and son Jerry E. Romine, of Denton, three sisters Sara Surratt, and Glyenda O'Briant, of Winnsboro, and Mary York, of Troup, a brother Richard (Red) Romine, of Chandler. He ws preceded in death by a grandson, Jason Smith, his parents, and a brother Howard Eugene Romine.
