Jerry William Reynolds, 63, of Hickory Creek, died Thursday, February 3, 2011 at his home surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren after his courageous battle with rectal cancer.
Mr. Reynolds was born on June 26, 1947 in Tulsa, OK to Bennie Emile and Jacqueline (Ledbetter) Reynolds. He served as a sergeant in the United States Air Force during Vietnam. He married Beth McGee on February 4, 1997 in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. He was the IT Manager for Texas AirSystems for 24 years.
He was an avid drag racer for the majority of his life. He traveled around the country racing his super comp car and was the NHRA 1985 Super Comp Champion.
A memorial service will be held at The Speedway Club at Texas Motor Speedway, 3545 Lone Star Circle, Ft Worth, TX 76177 on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at 2:00 pm.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Reynolds of Hickory Creek ; daughters, Christina Patterson (Pat) of Plano, TX , Diana Turner (Mark) of Frisco, TX, Kimberly Silva (Blake) of Cornith; stepdaughter, Sabrina Thompson of Denton; son, Matthew Reynolds of Frisco, TX; stepson, Robert Cook of Dallas, TX; stepson, Toby Thompson of Lewisville, TX; sister, Jane Howard of Collinsville, OK; seven grandchildren, Caroline McEuin, Shane McEuin, Benjamin Patterson, Allie Turner, Andrew Turner, A.J. Salinas, Sarah Patterson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Jacqueline Reynolds and stepdaughter, Rona Thompson.
