Jerry Wayne McBride, known affectionately to many as the "Texas Rebel," passed away on March 13, 2026, in his beloved hometown of Denton, Texas. Born on May 9, 1950, Jerry's life was a vivid tapestry woven with devotion, warmth, and an enduring spirit that touched all who knew him.

For four decades, Jerry dedicated himself to Roselawn Memorial Park, where his steadfast commitment and gentle presence provided comfort and solace to countless families during their most challenging moments. Yet, beyond his professional life, it was the cherished memories of family gatherings and spirited softball games that truly encapsulated the heart of Jerry’s world—moments filled with laughter, camaraderie, and the unspoken bonds of kinship.

Jerry married the love of his life, Carolyn Horn, on March 26, 1971. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, a foundation that nurtured their family and forged a legacy of loyalty and care. Carolyn’s passing preceded Jerry’s, leaving a void that only the memories of their shared life could momentarily fill.

He was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life—hunting, fishing, and the artful patience of cooking on his smoker. These hobbies were not merely pastimes but reflections of a soul deeply connected to nature and the rhythms of life.

Jerry's journey was marked by the company of beloved family. He is survived by his daughter, Linda McBride, and son, Jimmy McBride; devoted brothers Billy and Micheal McBride; granddaughters Loren "Stormy" Coin and her husband Logan, and Keeley Hilliard; grandsons Jonathan Nabors and his wife Kelsey, and Robert Hilliard. His heart also extended to great-grandchildren Corsi, Ryan, Greenlee, Nakona, Ryatt, and Brayden, who carry forward his spirit and stories. Jerry's furry companion, Bailey Kay, remained a loyal presence by his side. The fabric of his life was also enriched by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives he touched with kindness and humor.

Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carolyn Horn McBride, his mother Mackie McBride, father JB McBride, and brothers Jimmy, Timmy, Bobbie Jack, and Tommy. Their memories live on in the hearts of those left behind.

A visitation to honor Jerry’s life will be held on March 20, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home in Denton, Texas, located at 705 N Locust St. A funeral service will follow on March 21, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM at the same location, providing family and friends the opportunity to gather in reflection and celebration of a life profoundly lived.

Jerry Wayne McBride lived as he loved—with fierce loyalty, deep affection, and a rebellious spirit that never waned. His legacy is etched in the love he shared, the memories he created, and the lives he touched. He will be remembered as a steadfast pillar of strength and a beacon of Texas heart and soul.
