Jennifer Michelle Evans passed away in Denton on December 8, 2023 at the age of 50.
Jennifer was born in Wichita Falls, TX at Shepherd Air Force Base to James Robert and Ilene Gail Evans. She was an only child and is preceded in death by her father, James, all of her grandparents, and several aunts and uncles and cousins. She is survived by her mother, Ilene, 3 aunts, an uncle, and 8 cousins. Her mother is the only resident of Denton County. All of her other relatives are scattered around Texas.
Jennifer was a lover of music her entire life and was a member of the North Texas Youth Orchestra on the North Texas University campus where she played cello and oboe. This affiliation with the Youth Orchestra allowed her to participate in operas on the campus also. She became active in youth productions at Trinity United Methodist Church here in Denton also.
Jennifer studied accounting at Texas Women's University. She loved traveling and fishing was a hobby from childhood. She would spend all day on the fishing pier in Galveston just enjoying being at the beach and visiting with other fishermen.
Jennifer was an avid lover of animals and always rescued her pets from shelters to give orphaned dogs and cats a loving home. Several of her pets over the years adopted her by wandering up to her home.
Jennifer was a member of Sanger Chapter #1027, Order of the Eastern Star along with her mother.
A memorial service will be held at a future date in Denton, TX and Jennifer's ashes will be interred in Houston, TX in her mother's family plot.
