Jeffrey Brian Robb, 63, son of Marilyn and the late George Robb, died unexpectedly on August 3, 2017.  He was a Professor of Government at Texas Woman's University and Speaker of the Faculty Senate.  Jeff was devoted to his family and the happy grandfather of the "World's Cutest Baby."

Jeff was a graduate of Denton High School where he played varsity basketball and baseball and was the Valedictorian of the class of 1972. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Texas and "With Honors" from the University of Texas School of Law. For most of the 1980s he served as a JAG officer in the U.S. Navy, rising to the rank of Lt. Commander.

After returning to the United States, Jeff practiced civil law and earned a Master of Arts in Information Science from UNT.  In 1994, he joined the Department of History and Government at TWU, where he served as Director of Legal Studies and as the university's pre-law advisor.  He was a member of the Texas State Bar and the past president of the Southwest Association of Pre-Law Advisors.

Jeff was involved in many TWU campus activities and was recognized with both the university's "Distinction in Service" and the Pioneer athletics'  "Champion" award.  Having had a lifetime avocation for collecting lepidoptera, and protecting supporting habitats, his most recent project has been the development of the university's Bettye Meyers Butterfly Garden, to help avert the dwindling of pollinator populations.

A member of the Protestant Episcopal Church, Jeff attended Ponder United Methodist Church, where he sang on the choir.

Jeff is survived by Lybeth Hodges, his wife of forty-one years, and their daughters, Eri and Rowan Robb, his son-in-law, Michael Guernica, and grandson, Sutton. He is also survived by his mother and sisters, Kathy Shafeeq and Gail Evans, and by his sisters-in-law, Bunny Hodges and Mindy Croom, and their families.

His family and friends will remember Jeff's gentle spirit, sharp wit, and keen mind. He will be missed.

Visitation is from 6PM-8PM at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 9, 2017. The celebration of his life will be held at noon on August 10, 2017 at First United Methodist Church, Denton. Honorary pall-bearers are Mike Guernica, David Anderson, John Croom, Sam Shafeeq, Mark Haynie, Mark Penley, and John Sanborn.
