Jeanette Diane Gray (Hunt), age 54, of Denton, TX, passed away November 1, 2021. She was born and raised in Coos Bay, OR, where she learned to play her favorite sports, swimming, basketball, and volleyball. She was also the go to babysitter for quite a few swim team families! Once she graduated in 1985 from Marshfield High School, Coos Bay, OR, she went on to Linfield College, McMinnville, OR, While there, she completed her degree in teaching and continued to play basketball and volleyball. She was a dedicated Catholic schoolteacher at Madeleine Elementary School, Portland, OR, SS. Simon & Jude Cathedral School, Phoenix, AZ, John F. Kennedy Catholic School, Washington, PA, and Immaculate Conception Catholic School, Denton, TX.

Jeanette was a loving wife, sister, and mom. She loved her children fiercely and always made time for friends and fun. Whether it was dragon boat racing in Portland, outdoor volleyball in Phoenix (where she met Scott), boating on the three rivers in Pittsburgh, or coaching the kids, she loved being active and being part of a team. Wherever she lived, she would get out and explore what was going on.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward M. Hunt and Jeraldine Marie Peterson; and one sister, Katherine Hunt.

She is survived by her husband, Scott Gray; three children, Katie, Megan, and Andrew; two sisters, Michele Hunt, Richmond, CA, and Melissa Hunt, Portland, OR, and three brothers, Edward Hunt, Atlanta, GA, Peter Hunt, Portland, OR, and Bill Hunt, Portland, OR.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 8, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, Denton, TX, and on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John Fisher, SW Portland, OR.
