Jean Marguerite Wing, formerly of Lewisville, TX passed away February 27, 2009 at Saint John's Hospice in Springfield, Illinois.

Jean was born in Superior, Wisconsin on April 28, 1924. The next year she moved with her family to western Colorado. She resided in Grand Junction, Colorado, where she attended school and graduated from Grand Junction High School.  She attended St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Denver, graduating with her RN degree on August, 14, 1945 – VJ Day.

Jean married Raymond Wesley Wing on Christmas Eve, 1945.  He preceded her in death on April 27, 2005.

As a result of a Christian radio program, Jean accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior on February 14, 1950. She worked as a registered nurse in a variety of locations, and holding numerous positions for forty years before retiring. She was an accomplished pianist, organist, and soprano soloist. She used her musical talents in community productions and several churches for many years. Her hobbies included crocheting, reading, traveling and dining out.

Jean was a member of Cherry Hills Baptist Church in Springfield and previously of Temple Baptist Church in Lewisville, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Gloria Dawn, and her husband of 59 years, Raymond.

She is survived by a daughter, Sherri, and son-in-law John McBride of Springfield, Illinois; daughter, Paula, and son-in-law, Richard Wallace of Lewisville, Texas; a son, Tom Wing, and wife, Carol, of Lewisville, Texas; a son, Jim Wing and wife Carol, of Little Rock, Arkansas, 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Rigg, of Camarillo, California and her family.

Funeral services will be held at Temple Baptist Church in Flower Mound on Friday, February 13, at 12:30 p.m.  Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville is in charge of the arrangements.  A memorial service will be held at Cherry Hills Baptist Church in Springfield, Illinois, on Tuesday, February 17.
