Jean Turner Talley, 89, of Denton went to heaven on Friday June 29, 2018 surrounded by family at her daughter's home in Denton.
Mrs. Talley was born on August 18, 1928 in Fairlie, TX to William Travis and Annie Ola (Crawley) Turner. She was married to Kenneth Eugene Talley on September 23, 1947 in Dallas.
Her Mother's love for missions and youth influenced Jean to follow in her footsteps leading to a lifetime of service. She held local and state WMU offices. She was a Sunday school teacher, GA and YWA leader, and Director at Mount Lebanon Baptist Encampment. She worked with International Friends at First Baptist Grapevine. Her love for Christ influenced her career choice as Director of Christian Emphasis YMCA Metropolitan Dallas.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Alford and husband Larry of Denton; sons, Ronald Talley and wife Delanee of The Woodlands and Timothy Talley and wife Mary of Royce City; granddaughters, Bridget Alford, Claire Strole, and Erin Ludy; great grandchildren, Emily Alford, Austin Ely, Laurel Ludy; step grandchildren Crissy and Cathy Dodson; Delanee Clark; Raelee and Layken Trull. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Mary Lowry and Dorothy Turner, and twin brother Jack Turner.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, July 2, 2018 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in the chapel of the funeral home. Dr. Eric Williams will officiate the service. Interment will follow later in the day at 3:00 PM at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Wolfe City.
