Jean Ryan, 88, of Denton, died Tuesday February 6, 2007 at her home in Denton.
Mrs. Ryan was born September 5, 1918 in McKinney, TX to Fred and Vivian (Gates) Cothes. She was married to Earl Shelton Ryan on April 8, 1939 in Ardmore, OK; he died on December 21, 1997. She graduated the University of North Texas with Bachelor and Master of Science degrees. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She was a teacher for many years in Roanoke and Coppell.
A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Friday February 9, 2007 in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home. Rev. Rodney McClung will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Old Alton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday February 8 at the funeral home.
Survivors include sons, Robert Ryan of Denton and Fred Ryan Sanger; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
