IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janice L.
Shuffield
August 28, 1952 – October 11, 2023
Janice L. Shuffield (August 28, 1952 – October 11, 2023)
Janice L. Shuffield was born on August 28, 1952 in Munich, Germany to William and Helen Breisch. She went to be with the Lord on October 11, 2023 surrounded by her husband and children.
She attended Oklahoma State University where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority and served as an officer in the OSU Ski Club. While at OSU, she came to know the Lord through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU). She graduated in 1974 with a degree in finance and moved to Dallas where she met her husband, Randy, at Scofield Memorial Church. The two were married there on September 27th, 1975. While raising two children, she was determined to get a post-baccalaureate teaching certificate at Texas Woman's University, which she did in 1995, so she could teach at the same high school her children attended. She continued to teach at Marcus High School for nearly 25 years.
She is survived by her husband, Randy; her children – Brad and Marissa Shuffield, Tara and Tommy White; and her grandchildren – Sam, Isaac, Luke, and Noah Shuffield; Abigail and Reid White.
Janice had a luminous smile, and her energy for life was unmistakable. She loved to travel, and you could guarantee she had a trip to the mountains planned every year. She served at Starting Point at Denton Bible Church and ministered at Dogwood Retirement Center. She had a gift for making others feel welcomed and loved.
She had a teacher's heart and was a lifelong learner. She spent much of her retirement learning Biblical truths through Bible Study Fellowship and Summer Women's Bible Studies so that she could lead a group of women in their journeys with the Lord. She helped others organize their finances through a ministry at Denton Bible Church. If anything, Janice was organized and had a passion for letting others experience the freedom that came from financial wisdom.
She was a wife, a mom, a mother-in-law, a grammy, a family member who was loved and who loved deeply. She was fiercely committed to serving Christ, serving her family, and the people that God sent her way. The world may have lost a beautiful person, but heaven has gained an incredible saint.
