Janice Grey Durrum, 89 of Denton passed away on October 27, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. She was born June 4, 1921 in Pine Bluff, AR to Royal Towers and Irma Laura (Darnell) durum. She attended Clarksville High Schools and was a graduate of Texas State College for Women (TWU) She served in the United States Marine Corps during WW II (1942-1945) She was Director of Food Services-TSCW, Midland , TZ ISD, HEB ISD (Euless, TX) Her interest were Knitting, Reading, Bridge, and China Painting.
Private Graveside services were held on Thursday at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in the Chapel at the Vintage, 205 N. Bonnie Brae, Denton with James Earp, officiating.
MS Durrum is survived by a Niece, Sandra Bennett of Bator Rouge, LA nephews James Durrum (Pete) Harvey, of Denton, Timothy King of McKinney and William King of Austin. She was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothea Harvey, Denton, TX and Jayne McCleod, Baton Rouge, LA
