Janeda L. Wood Peploe, 60, a life-long resident of Denton passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2009. She was born on August 1, 1949 to Clyde A. and Geneva F. (Jackson) Wood. Janeda attended the North Texas Lab School and Denton High School. She graduated from the now University of North Texas in 1971. She married Jeff Peploe on March 28, 1970 in Denton.
Janeda taught in public schools for almost 4 decades, starting at Northwest I.S.D. and retiring in 2008 at Krum I.S.D. History was her passion, especially Egyptian history and holocaust studies. Janeda inspired many throughout her career.
A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 703 N. Elm St., Denton, with Russell Tieken officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, for visitation on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
Janeda is survived by her husband Jeff Peploe of Denton, daughter and son-in-law Shelley and Jason Pierce of Aubrey, and her grandson Michael Pierce. She is also survived by beloved four legged companions.
