USAF TSGT James (Jim) Scott, 84, died peacefully at The Residence at Prairie Creek, Flower Mound, Texas on December 27, 2021.
Born in Morton's Gap, KY to parents Shellie and Sarah Eva (Atchley) Scott, the 3 rd of 9 children. He graduated from the Hanson School system in Hanson, KY in 1956. Immediately after graduation, Jim joined the United States Air Force in June 1956. He served over 20 years in the USAF. He also worked at Xerox for 21 years and 10 years part time at a bowling alley after his retirement. He was actively involved in bowling for close to 50 years. During which time he bowled a perfect 300 and was involved in youth bowling.
He married the love of his life, Margie Ruth Ward October 4, 1960 in Merced, California in a private ceremony.
Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife Ruth (Ward) Scott, his parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother. He is survived by his children, Janet Hill (Robert), Sherry Swafford, Keith Scott (Tammy), Rick Dolph and Les Dolph (Jeri); grandchildren Patience Gant (Brandon), Randy Scott, Amber Lawrence (Joshua Waybright), Chad Scott (Savana Griffie) , Melissa Scott (Tim Titus) and numerous great grandchildren, step grandchildren/great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Mary Helen Hester, Sandra Gail Allen, Brenda Kaye Fowler and 1 brother Johnny Scott.
There will be a "Celebration of Life" for Jim Saturday, January 1, 2022 at one of his granddaughter's homes from 2pm-4pm, 2813 Tori Oaks Trail, Corinth, TX. He will be laid to rest alongside his wife, in a private ceremony, with military honors at Dallas-Forth National Cemetery in Texas in the fall.
