James Thelbert Pollard, Jr, 77, born August 3, 1936 to James and Emma Choplin Pollard in Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013, at The North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville, Texas.
A graveside service was held at Roselawn Memorial Park on Monday, December 17, 2013, at 2:00 pm.
James retired after spending a large part of his life serving our country in the United States Air Force. He also retired from his second career with The Dallas Morning News. James was a very competitive person in all that he did, including golf and poker. He will be missed by all his family, friends and his two dogs, Belle and Susie, which he dearly loved.
James is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Geri Pollard; two daughters, Kim France and Sandy Ridingson; one son, Brad Pollard; two stepsons, Michael Bitsche and Mark Bitsche; one step daughter, Chris Lunsford; a sister, Emma Neal Medlin and J.D.; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
