James Edward "Ed" Phillips, age 83, of Flower Mound, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2008, at his home.

He was born November 3, 1924 in Crossett, Arkansas to Leo Mathew Phillips and Eunice Sivils Phillips.Ed served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and MOPH of USA. Ed married Myrtis Davis on September 24, 1949 in Bastrop, Louisiana. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lewisville and retired from City of Dallas as automotive tech.

He is survived by his wife, Myrtis; daughter, Jackie Dolliins of Flower Mound; grandson, Seamus Dollins of Flower Mound and brother, Kenneth Phillips of Columbus, Mississippi.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at First Baptist Church in Lewisville. Interment will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville.
