James L. Morrison, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on September 9, 2014, in Denton, Texas after a long illness.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Paula of Denton, TX, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Morrison of Plano, TX, daughter Linda Morrison of Denver, CO, and her husband. Jim enjoyed the times he spent with his granddaughter and three grandsons.
Born to Henry and Muriel Morrison in Wilkinsburg, PA on June 27, 1934, Jim graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) and in 1964 from Cornell University with a PhD in Physics.
Jim married Paula in 1958 and they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1964 as Jim pursued a faculty position in the Physics Department at the University of Utah. He later transitioned to the State of Utah Job Service where he was instrumental in developing their computerized systems managing and paying state unemployment benefits. After retirement, he was pursued as a consultant and finished his career contributing to the State of Nevada's unemployment system.
Jim's smile and love will be greatly missed by his family.
