Obituary

James Elmon Lee, 92, passed away at his home in Ponder on Saturday, December 20, 2008   He was born May 20, 1916 in  Justin, TX to J. K. and Rowena Lee.  He was married to Ila Fay McGalliard, on August 6, 1941 in Little Rock, AR and she died December 12, 2000.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He built and raced hydroplane boats and was a talented bass Gospel singer.  He loved the outdoors and especially his farming and cattle operations.

A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2008 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home,  705 N. Locust, Denton, with Chaplain Joel Watson, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Justin Cemetery in Justin, TX   The family will be at the funeral home on Friday, December 26, 2008 for visitation from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.

Mr. Lee is survived by his sisters, Grace Parr, of Plainview, TX and Myrtle Wooten, of Justin, TX  and his nieces Gay Thrift of Plainview and Leonore Hicks and her husband Skip of Krum and his nephew Jim Lee and his wife Nancy of Ft. Worth.  He was preceded in death by two brothers C. W. Lee and Howard Lee, one sister Geneva Helton, father J. K. Lee, and mother Rowena Lee.  Ms. Cendei Sherwood of Ponder was his caregiver for over seven years.
