IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James Robert
Knowler
June 1, 1960 – November 10, 2020
James Robert Knowler, 60, of Argyle, Texas, died on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. James was born at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, on June 1, 1960, to Delbert Leon Knowler and Barbara (Willmer) Knowler. He was baptized at the First Methodist Church in Bellevue, Nebraska. He was married to Kathleen "Kathy" Dowling on June 1, 2007, in Roanoke, Texas. James is survived by his wife, Kathy of Argyle; daughters Amber Marie Smith of Lewisville; Seanna Leigh Smith of Denton; parents Delbert and Barbara Knowler of Bartonville; sister Kimberly (Jeff Loehr) of Bartonville; grandson Karson Michael Coker-Smith of Denton.
James "Jim" moved to Dallas with his family in 1969. He attended Stultz Road Elementary School, Forest Meadow Junior High School and graduated from Lake Highlands High School. He worked in several fields but found his passion in computer technology. At the time of his passing, Jim was employed by IBM in Dallas where, in addition to his own duties, he mentored a number of people in computer technology.
Jim loved riding his motorcycle; playing video games; fishing and water sports. He also loved his dogs and owned several Dobermans and German Shepherds.
In his memory I give you the following:
Now that I'm gone, remember me with a smile and laughter. And if you need to cry, cry with your brother or sister who walks in grief beside you. And when you need me, put your arms around anyone and give them what you need to give to me. I want to leave you something. Something much better than words or sounds. Look for me in the people I've known and loved or helped out in some way. Let me live in your eyes as well as in your mind. You can love me the most by letting love live within the circle of your arms, embracing the frightened ones.
Love does not die; people do. So when all that's left of me is love, give me away the best you can. I'll see you at home, where I'll be waiting.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 5, 2020 in the chapel of Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral, 705 N. Locust St., Denton.
