James Weldon Crouch, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 12, 2019. Born in Pecan Gap, Texas, on December 29, 1925, he was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Faye Wommack Crouch, one brother, and one sister. His parents were Riley Weldon Crouch and Ada Katherine Wright Crouch. Two children survive: Jerry W. Crouch of Fort Worth, Texas, and Dianne Crouch Ice of Anna Maria, Florida. There are also two surviving sisters-in-law: Ida Mae Kessler of Sanger, and Francis Wommack of Naples. Jerry Dalton Proffer of Gainesville is the surviving brother-in-law. There are also 3 grandchildren: Jeffrey Crouch, Timothy Bond, and Kelley Ice, as well as 4 great grand children and many nieces and nephews. J. W. was a World War II survivor, having served in the Phillipines and in the occupation army in Japan. Visitation will be at the Denton Funeral Home, 120 South Carroll Blvd, Denton, from 6-8 pm on Thursday 14 March. A graveside service will be held on Friday March 15 at 2 pm at the Justin, Texas Cemetery.
