James O. Bratton, age 68, of Lewisville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2008. He will be remembered by his family and friends as a devoted husband, father, brother, adoring grandfather, uncle, and lifelong follower of Jesus Christ. He was born December 9, 1939 in Cookeville, Texas to J.D. Bratton and Ima Cox Bratton. Jim served in the United States Navy for four years. He married Sara Rice Blount on March 16, 1984 in Lewisville. Jim retired from The Colony High School in 2006 and was a faithful member of Lake Shore Baptist Church in Lake Dallas. He will be missed by his loving family, wife, Sara; children, James O. Bratton, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Fort Worth, Rebecca Minyard and her husband, Bill of Keller, Robert Blount and Michael Bratton both of Lewisville; grandchildren, Bobby, Ariel, Rachel and Mitchell; sister, Judy Morgan of Everett, Washington and brother, Charly Bratton and his wife, Vicki of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008, at Lake Shore Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville. Reverend Homer Walkup will officiate the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Portugal Mission Trip C/O Lake Shore Baptist Church, 276 E. Hundley Dr., Lake Dallas, Texas 75065. Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home of Lewisville is in charge of arrangements.
