Jack Harold Smith 79 of Denton, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. He was born December 8, 1931 in Denton to Walter and Tullie (Ashlock) Smith. He attended Denton Public Schools and was a member of the Gateway United Baptist Church. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator. He was married to Clara Hilger on April 10, 1992 in Denton, she preceded him in death.

Mr. Smith is survived by his children, two daughters, Sherry Cook and husband Andy of Lewisville, Charlotte Jolly and husband Bob of Sanger, and son Roger H. Smith of Sanger, Three Grandchildren, Nicholas Darnall, Jessica Murdock (Brandon) and Clay Jolly (Megan) and Two Great Grandchildren, Connor and Addison Murdock and other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter Shelia Darnall.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton, TX 76201 with Rev. Buddy Owens, officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
