Jack Edward Briscoe, 87, of Denton, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Denton Good Samaritan Village.
Mr. Briscoe was born on June 16, 1930 in Denton to Oscar Lee and Clara Lou (Felps) Briscoe. He graduated from Krum High School and attended North Texas Agricultural College and North Texas State Teachers College. He was married to Colleen Oliver on July 21, 1951 in Denton. He owned and operated Briscoe Alignment and Tire since 1967.
Jack is survived by his wife, Colleen Oliver Briscoe; daughter, Gwen Dorwaldt and her husband Paul of Denton; sons, Brian Briscoe and his wife DeAnn of Denton, Michael Briscoe and his wife Susan of Argyle; sisters, Carolyn Waters of Hereford, Vanna Ingram of Denton, Becky Buchanan of San Antonio; grandchildren, Bryce Benton, Leah Holland, Macie Mulkey, Emily McBroom, Erin Newton, Madison Briscoe, Carlton Briscoe; eight great-grandchildren; and cherished nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Denton Bible Church Chapel. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Monday, November 20, 2017 in the Chapel of Denton Bible Church, 2300 E. University Dr., Denton. Rev. Tom Nelson will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, Denton.
Pallbearers will be: Bryce Benton, Joey Holland, Jesse McBroom, Cameron Newton, Carlton Briscoe, Chance Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bert Poulin, Truman Massey, Glenn Kobernusz.
