J.W. Henson, 79, of Aubrey, died Monday November 23, 2009 at The Atrium Medical Center in Corinth.
Mr. Henson was born on May 20, 1930 in Kaufman, TX to William Sloan and Georgia (Anderson) Henson. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He was married to Ruth Pontley on June 19, 1974 in Durant, OK. He was a member of the Gateway United Baptist Church in Denton and was a barber.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday November 24 at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday November 25, 2009 at Gateway United Baptist Church. Rev. Buddy Owens will officiate the service. Interment will be at 12:30 PM Tuesday December 1, at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Henson of Aubrey; daughter, Cathey Gilson of Carrollton, Andrea Colella of New York; stepdaughters, Margaret Tipping of Greenville, Lisa Vincent of Carrollton; son, Todd Henson of Frisco; brothers, Jimmy Henson of Longview, R.L. Henson of Tyler, Ollie Henson of San Antonio; nine grandchildren; one great granddaughter; one great-great grandson.
Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
