Irene Rogers Roper, 92 of Denton, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Atrium Medical Center. She was born April 23, 1919 in Vernon, TX to James and Carther Pearl (Dixon) Rogers She was a Graduate of Tipton, OK High School and was a Homemaker, and a member of the Church of Christ. She was married to Roger Lee Roper on May 27, 1937 in Henderson, TX

Mrs. Roper is survived by two daughters, Sandra Roper Ashby of Sanger, and Deborah Roper Hastings of Dayton, OH, grandchildren, Sherri Ashby Wuensch, Kelly Ashby, Tamara Hastings Togleiatti M.D., Tara Hastings Lee, Aimee Hastings Halferty, and one grandson who preceded her in death Marcus Wayne Ashby.

A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in the Chapel of Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, with Jim Welborne officiating. The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 for visitation from 6 P.M. until 8 P.M.
