IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Irene Faye
Magers
November 22, 1955 – January 22, 2022
Irene Faye Magers, 66, of Lake Dallas, Texas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton, Texas. Irene was married to Michael A. Magers on December 6, 1980 and had just celebrated 41 years of marriage in December. Michael and Irene attended Denton Bible Church together for 27 years.
Born in Blanchester, Ohio in 1955 and accepting Christ as a child, Irene grew up to be a faithful wife, and mother to the core of her being. She was a children's Sunday School teacher at Denton Bible Church, a faithful prayer warrior and also a short term missionary to children in Nepal and India. Her proudest achievement was being Grandmother to her beautiful 8 month old baby granddaughter, Ember. The lives she touched and blessed are spread around the world, and her influence helping others does not end with her death.
Irene delighted in serving others and particularly loved working with children, teaching them the Word of God in a multitude of creative ways. She was involved in child care and children's Sunday School at Denton Bible; and in recent years she also served in the same capacity at Freedom Church Denton. She loved making almost yearly trips to visit the Freedom Life Children's Home both in Bihar, India and Katmandu, Nepal, where she ministered to former street children who now live in the children's home. Irene was called Aunty and loved by those children, who she loved in turn.
She was a long time employee of Responsive Education Solutions, serving in the Marketing and Communications Department for the last several years. She was endearingly known there as the department mother, grandmother, confidant, problem solver and organizer.
Irene was quiet and sometimes reserved but left a profound impact on everyone she met. She was the very essence of the Proverbs 31 woman: "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. (Proverbs 31:10 NIV) "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting: but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." (Proverbs 31:29-30 NIV) The borders of her influence reached to the very ends of the earth. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
Irene is survived by her husband Michael Magers; and by sons Patrick D. Magers, wife Joanna and daughter Ember Ariela, Lewisville, Texas; Michael Sean Magers, wife Andrea, Lake Dallas, Texas; and sisters Janet Warren, Amelia, Ohio, Martha Potterfield, Clarksville, Ohio, Annette Tuscherer, Springfield, Ohio; and brother Joe Taylor, Mason, Ohio.
