Obituary

Iona Mae Boutwell, age 89, went to be with the Lord on December 2, 2022. She was born on October 7, 1933, in Purcell, Oklahoma to Gid and Carrie Graham. Being the youngest of 5, she had a very special relationship with her mother. She often spoke about how they spent time together in prayer.

Iona is leaving behind her children: Paul and wife Derlly, Carol Senters and husband John, LaDonna Carter and husband Clyde, LuAnn Velasco, and Richard and wife Katrina; 20 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, and many loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband William; her parents: Gid and Carrie Graham; and her siblings: Fred, Myrtle Wadlow, Faye Blankenship, and Lois Blankenship.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, December 12, 2022 at Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust St., Denton. A graveside service will be held the next week at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, OK.

Saying Goodbye

He said goodbye; he looked so small

With head held high, he stood so tall

First day of school, mom must not cry

This very 1 st time, she bids goodbye.

She kissed his cheek as he goes to war

Her child is a man; he will go far

She will see him again; someday he will return

Saying goodbye makes her heart yearn.

They kiss and embrace; these two in love

Saying goodbye to the sound of a dove

Parting is such sorrow, but the touch of his hand

And the whisper of his lips says I'll see you tomorrow.

Many are the times we must say goodbye

And each time that we do, our hearts sigh

For saying goodbye, while bringing great sorrow

Is our way of saying, I'll see you tomorrow.
