I.J. "Deke" Derichsweiler, age 74, of Lewisville, passed away Monday, November 23, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Deke was born in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, March 9, 1935 to William and Elizabeth Derichsweiler. He was a founding member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewisville and retired from Rowe Machinery and Manufacturing after 42 years. Deke married Shirley Ann Bowen, September 3, 1955 in Muenster, Texas. Shirley preceded him in death April 13, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ray Derichsweiler. Deke is survived by two daughters, Debra Davis and her husband, Lyn of Lewisville and Judi New and her husband, Edwin of Lewisville; two sons, Ron Derichsweiler and his wife, Debbye of Lewisville and Mark Derichsweiler also of Lewisville; five sisters, Lorene Schmitz of Muenster, Alvina Crow of Wichita Falls, Della Knabe of Argyle, Delores Zimmerer and her husband, Richard of Grapevine and Cathy Hess and her husband, Roger Ramsey of Lewisville; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. The family will have a Rosary at 7pm, Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 in the chapel of Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home followed by a visitation until 9pm. A funeral mass will be held at 11am, Wednesday at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment will be at 3pm in the Mountain Park Cemetery in Saint Jo.
