Hugh Lee (Smokey) Corman, Jr. of Lake Dallas, Texas passed away September 8, 2007 in Denton, Texas. Smokey was born April 9, 1932 in Clifton, Kansas to Hugh and Anna (Peterson) Corman. On August 26, 1985 he married Mildred (Petty) Corman. He is survived by his wife; and step-children Brenda Moore of Denton, Texas; David Gibbs of Quinlan, Texas; Carolyn Odom of Yantis, Texas; Sue Harper of Denton, Texas; Martin Gibbs of Quinlan, Texas; LuJuana Kegel of Lake Dallas, Texas; Montra Land of East Tawakoni, Texas; and Don Gibbs of Pilot Point, Texas; also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by a brother, Edwin Corman and wife Donice of Clifton, Kansas; a sister Neva Brown of Fairbury, Nebraska and several nieces and nephews. Smokey was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Ruth Allen, Virginia Johnson and brother Marion Corman. In 1992 he retired from the City of Lewisville as head of maintenance after 20 years of service.
Smokey enjoyed many hobbies including fishing, hunting, wood crafts and working with heavy equipment. He enjoyed traveling with his wife who was his greatest love. Smokey will be missed by all who knew him.
Mulkey Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, Texas will be handling the services. Visitation will be Monday, September 10 from 6-8pm, funeral will be at 10am on September 11. Burial will be at Shady Shores Cemetery in Lake Dallas, Texas. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
