Henry Allen Buchanan, Jr., 78, of Denton, died Monday, April 16, 2012 at Denton Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Buchanan was born on February 19, 1934 in Fort Worth to Henry Allen Buchanan, Sr. and Vida (Davis) Buchanan. He was married to Barbara Brandon on July 3, 1957 in Fort Worth, TX. He served in the United States Army and was a member and deacon at the Hickory Creek Baptist Church. He graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for over forty years for Texas Utilities, formerly Dallas Power and Light, before he retired as an executive.
The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 19, 2012 in the Denton Bible Church Chapel. There will be a brief viewing prior to the service. Rev. Raymond Castro will officiate the service. A private family interment will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fort Worth.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Buchanan of Denton; daughters, Jill Moericke and her husband Nick of Denton, Lisa Saur and her husband Dan of Dallas; sisters, Ysleta Bradshaw and her husband Vernie of Fort Worth, Bettye Martin and her husband Eddie of Burleson; two grandchildren, Mark Tromanhauser, Joy Tromanhauser. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dana Buchanan.
