Helen Ann Stults, 74, of Denton passed away peacefully on April 3, 2024.  Ann was born on November 1, 1949, in Denton, Texas to Harold Lee Handley and Ruby Helen Handley.  She graduated as Valedictorian of her class from Coppell High School in 1968.  Ann met the love of her life, Ronald Stults, in high school and they were married on October 29, 1970.

Ann worked at the University of North Texas for a few years until she decided to start a family.  Then she found a new career as a homemaker (AKA chef, house cleaner, nurse, seamstress, accountant, shuttle driver and referee).  She enjoyed gardening in her iris bed and was very protective of her mom's bluebonnets when they were in bloom.  She loved being outdoors and attending her grandsons' sporting events.  She was a long-time fan of Charley Pride and is probably hanging out listening to him sing right now.  And in spite of her distaste for the music of Elvis and Willie, she put up with everyone else's adoration of them.  She was a loyal fan of the Cowboys and Rangers, but she was very happy wearing her Patrick Mahomes sweatshirt as the Chiefs won the Super Bowl earlier this year.

Ann is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years Ronnie Stults; her daughter Alicia Schwarze and husband Charles of Denton; her daughter Kelli Holdsclaw of Denton and fiancé Kelsey McCaughan of Sunset; her son Brian Stults and wife Amy of Denton; and grandchildren Trace Holdsclaw, Tanner Holdsclaw and Jett Stults.  She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Ruby Handley.

A family graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, April 19, 2024 at Jackson Cemetery in Krum,TX.
