Helen Marie Smith, 86, of Denton, died Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Mrs. Smith was born on May 3, 1935 in Green Valley, TX to Albert and Thelma (Massey) Zachary. She was married to Walter Smith, Jr. on July 4, 1954 in Bolivar, TX; he died on July 8, 1999. She worked as a seamstress for Haggar's clothing for many years.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Janice Calvert of Ponder, Tonya Locke of Denton; sisters, Willia Faye Ingram of Austin, Wanda Holcomb of Denton; brother, Charles Zachary of Denton; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Dorothy Cantrell.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, May 17, 2021 at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the Mulkey-Bowles-Montgomery Funeral Home Chapel, 705 North Locust, Denton. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
