Helen Doris Lester, 86, a loving wife, mother,  grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, joined our Heavenly Father on Monday, May 18, 2009 in Mt. Vernon, TX.

Funeral:  10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 21, at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville

Interment:  Old Hall Cemetery, Lewisville, Texas.

Visitation: 6-8 P.M, at Mulkey Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville, TX

Helen was born on March 2, 1923 to Bob and Sue Hill in Carrollton, TX.  She had an older sister (deceased) Bobbie Liles of Carrollton and a younger sister Betty McDaniel of Lewisville, TX.  March 18, 1939 she married Claude Lester and they made their home in Lewisville, TX.  Helen was a 50 year charter member of the Lewisville Chapter 935 of The Eastern Star.  She was a life-long Texas resident living in Lewisville for over 68 years.  She retired in 1988 from Motorola after 22 years of loyal service.

Helen (Mamaw) to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was an inspiration to all who knew her.  She enjoyed playing the piano and she loved music.  She also enjoyed fishing and was a wonderful cook. Helen never met a stranger, and she had a talent for making people laugh.  She will be missed greatly, yet her loved ones have many treasured memories to cherish through-out their lives.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Dennis Hill and Susan Brickey Hill of Carrollton, TX, her infant son, Bobby Jim Lester and her husband, Claude Olin Lester of Lewisville, TX.

Daughter, Barbara Ramsey and husband, Mike Ramsey of Mt. Vernon, TX; Sister, Betty McDaniel of Lewisville, TX; Four grandchildren: Debbie Greener and husband Joe Schober of Roanoke, TX, Gary Greener of Palestine, TX, Michelle Ramsey of Mt. Vernon, TX, and Michael Ramsey and wife, Tawnette Ramsey of Sulpher Springs, TX; five great-grandchildren:  Jennifer Ellis and husband Lando Ellis of  Lufkin, Stacey Sucre of Lufkin, TX, Sarah Sucre of Keller, TX, Kristin Ramsey of Sulpher Springs,  TX, and David Ramsey also of Sulpher Springs, TX; and seven great-great-grandchildren: Brittney, Grace, Paige, and Jake Ellis of Lufkin, TX, Craig and Hannah Carnes of Lufkin, TX and Luke Milner also of Lufkin, TX.
