Obituary

Helen Dobbins Glenn, 93, of Denton, died Monday February 20, 2017 at Countryside Care Center in Pilot Point.
Mrs. Glenn was born on December 31, 1923 in Denton to Raymond M. and Maude E. (Burgoon) Dobbins. She was married to Loren L. Glenn on February 6, 1943 in Denton. She graduated from Denton High School in 1940 and attended North Texas State University.
"She was a child of the Great Depression and the youngest of five children raised on a small farm about three miles south of downtown Denton. She met my dad in the bowling alley on the south side of Denton square and two weeks later they were married. She became an Army Officer's wife and raised six kids through three wars (WWII, Korea, Vietnam). She was the mortar that held our family together. Today her faith has become sight. We will miss her dearly".
She is survived by her daughters, Sandy Gandee and her husband Bill of Gordonville, Karen Glenn of Gordonville; sons, Fred Glenn and his wife Carol of Indian Rocks Beach, FL, Milton Glenn and his wife Diane of Ivanhoe, Dennis Glenn and his wife Lisa of Oak Point, Kenneth Glenn of Seminole, FL; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, February 23, 2017 in the chapel at Denton Bible Church, 2300 East University Drive, Denton, TX. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
