Hazel Florence Thompson, 95 of Denton, a homemaker, died Monday, January 23, 2006 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. She was born in Grayson County, Texas to George William and Mattie Myrtle (Lee) Bell. She was married to Blake B. Thompson in Sherman in 1932, he died in 1959. She was a member of the Church on the Go, when she looks back at her life she will see only smiling and happy faces.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A. M. Thursday, January 26, 2006 at the Church on the Go, 2216 Bolivar St. Denton, TX with Rev. Frankie Garcia, officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the funeral home for visitation from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 25, 2006. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Lewis Owens, J. R. Thompson, Christopher Pearce, Bobby Corn, Jr., Robert Carruth, Blake Carruth, and Brian Thompson .
Mrs. Thompson is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and James Erwin, of Denton, Donna and Ron Honea, of Lewisville, and five sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Lee and Barbara Owens, of Denison, Billy Thompson, and John and Meth Thompson and , of Denton, Ted and Millie Thompson, of Winnsboro, and Charles Thompson, of Mesa, AZ, one sister Hattie Crumby, of Mesquite, and twenty-three Grandchildren, twenty-five Great Grandchildren and Nine Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Jerry, Virgil, and Leroy Thompson.
