Hazel Irene Molmen, of Denton, died early Tuesday May 17, 2011 at her home in Denton.
She was born on October 28, 1913 in Aubrey to John and Bessie (Irick) Mohon. She was a graduate of Aubrey High School and attended North Texas University for two years. She worked as a secretary for several businesses in Dallas before marrying Rev. C.J. Molmen November 15, 1963, and serving with him in Southern Baptist Churches in Rockport and Matagorda, TX. Upon her husband's retirement, she returned to Denton where she resided at Heritage Oaks Apartments. She was a member of the Gateway United Baptist Church.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday May 19, 2011 at Mulkey-Mason, Jack Schmitz and Son Funeral Home, 705 N. Locust, Denton. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday May 20, 2011 at Gateway United Baptist Church, 2401 N. Bell Ave., Denton. Rev. Buddy Owens will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Belew Cemetery, Aubrey. Pallbearers will be: Ryan Irick, Matthew Owens, Mike and Michael Millican, Myron Molmen and Paul Thompson.
She is survived by her husband, C.J. Molmen of Denton; six stepchildren; three grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, H.L. Mohon and her daughter, Nathalie Millican.
