Harry Wheeler Stokes passed away in Corinth, Denton County, Texas on March 20, 2014 at 
the age of 76.
Harry was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Levy Harry (LH) Stokes, and his mother, 
Mrs. Dorothy Wheeler Stokes, both of Caldwell, Burleson County, Texas.
Harry is survived by his only child, Phillip Cockerham Stokes of Plano, Texas, and two 
grandsons; Lane Harrison (LH) Stokes of Fort Worth, TX and Haydon Wyatt Stokes of North 
Richland Hills, Texas.
Harry was born in Brazos County, Texas on January 22, 1938. Harry graduated from Caldwell 
High School in 1955 and went on to earn a Political Science Degree from University of 
North Texas in 1959. He was accepted to Baylor Law School in 1959 and entered the USMC in 
1962.
