Obituary

Grace Anna Russo, daughter of Edward James and Ethel May Daggett Powers, was born December 6, 1935, at Rutland, Vermont.

She spent her early childhood in Rutland before the family moved to Amherst, Massachusetts, where she graduated from high school. She then moved to Springfield, Massachusetts, and it was there that she became acquainted with Anthony A. Russo. She and Anthony were married in 1956 at Springfield.

Her husband Anthony, preceded her in death in 1965.

Following the death of her husband, Grace moved to Castile, New York, where she attended Elohim University. In 1979 she moved to the Dallas, Texas suburb of Lake Dallas. She was employed for sixteen years for Harris RF Communications as an inspector, then for several years for the Digital Switch Corporation, before retiring in 2004 from the Celestica Corporation. While at Lake Dallas she was a member of the Cindy Lane Baptist Church in Lewisville.

She suffered the loss of her son, David Edward Russo in 1984.

In 2004 she moved to Lebo, Kansas, where she lived for several months before moving to Burlington to make her home with her son. She attended the Lebo Baptist Church and the First Baptist Church in Burlington.

Failing health has caused her to become a resident of the Life Care Center in Burlington and her death came on Tuesday morning, January 29, 2008, at the Coffey County Hospital in Burlington.

She leaves her son, Andrew Anthony Russo and his wife Lissa of Burlington; his daughter, Leona May Edelmann and her husband Rick of Sodus, New York; five grandchildren, Timothy Mayo, David Russo, Richelle Edelmann, Barbara Wing, and James Russo; her step-mother, Beatrice Powers of Amarillo, Texas; two brothers, Mark Powers of Spring, Texas and James Powers of Waxahachie, Texas; three sisters, Terry White of Newkirk, New Mexico, Cindy Childs of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Viola Parker of Amarillo, Texas; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30A.M., Tuesday, February 5, 2008 in the chapel at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home.  The family will receive visitors and friends from 7:00P.M. to 8:00P.M., Monday evening at the funeral home.  Interment will follow the service in the Swisher Cemetery.
