Glynndell "Buddy" Odell
Bowles
September 16, 1946 – April 24, 2026
Glynndell "Buddy" Odell Bowles, known affectionately as Buddy, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, at Medical City Denton in Texas. Born on September 16, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, Buddy lived a life marked by a genuine zest for life and fun, qualities that endeared him deeply to all who knew him.
Buddy’s love for the outdoors was evident in his avid enjoyment of fishing and hunting, pursuits that brought him much joy and countless treasured memories over the years. His enthusiasm for life was matched only by his dedication to his family and friends, who were central to his world.
He is survived by a loving family that reflects the legacy of his warmth and strength: his sons Michael Irving and Buddy H. Bowles; his daughter Terresa Adams; and daughter-in-law Becky Irving. Buddy cherished his role as grandfather to Mike Adams, Misty Adams, Trey Martin, and Mikayla Kizzar, and he was proud to see his family grow with several great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother Paul Bowles and sister Paula Venable, both of whom shared many chapters of life’s journey with him. Above all, Buddy held a special bond with his very best friend, Billye Ross, whose friendship was a constant source of comfort and joy.
Buddy was preceded in death by his beloved wife Glenda, his brother Bobby, and sister Ann, as well as his parents, Odell and Ressie Bowles. Their memory lives on in the hearts of all who were privileged to know Buddy and share in the story of his life.
As we remember Buddy Bowles, we honor a man who truly embraced each day with enthusiasm and kindness. His legacy is not only in the family he nurtured and the friendships he cultivated but in the spirit of joy and adventure that defined his years. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
